OPERATIONAL FEATURES OF PRO SERIES3 DIGITAL RADON DETECTOR

Start-Up. This radon monitor is very simple to use and plugs into a 110-volt household outlet using the attached power cord.

Beginning Readings.  When first plugged in, a code of letters and numbers will display allowing the radon detector to self determine its calibration.  It conducts a self-test and 4 chirps will be heard.  It will then read '_ _" for a 2 day (48 Hour) period until enough samples have been taken for an accurate reading.

The numeric LED display shows the radon gas levels in pCi/L and is updated every hour if there is a change in the radon test results.

The short-term display monitors short-term fluctuations in the home.  This provides a better feel for problems relating to seasonal and weather related variations in the radon levels.

The long-term display reading indicates the average levels of radon gas since the detector was powered up or the last reset.  This reading indicates the average radon level you would be exposed to if you were continually in the same location as the digital radon detector.

An audible alarm sounds if the long-term reading reaches a level of 4 pCi/L or more.  This is the level set by the EPA as the threshold at which action should begin to correct the radon level within the home.  The 4 short chirps sound will occur every hour until the long term drops below 4 pCi/hr or the alarm is muted by the user.

The menu button controls 4 different functions for the digital radon detector.  It allows you to switch from the short-term to the long-term reading or vice versa.  It allows you to test the audible alarm.  It allows you to mute (silence) the audible alarm.   And, the menu button allows you to reset or clear the memory.

Every 24 hours the detector will do a self-test.  If there is a failure in the self-test, an error message will display in the window.  If it is due to a noise error, the detector needs to be moved away from the electrical item causing interference.

Continuous radon monitoring includes those devices that record real-time continuous measurements of radon gas. Air is either pumped or diffuses into a counting chamber. The counting chamber is typically a scintillation cell or ionization chamber.

Ordering and using this reliable EPA evaluated radon tester allows you to measure radon and gives you continuous radon detection without having to send samples into a testing laboratory.  The results include short term and long term testing at the same time. Either one is available at the push of a button.  Monitoring can be constant for peace of mind.
